Princeton Farms and Preserves uses sustainable farming methods to cultivate high value crops that also enrich the land. Previously a verdant sod farm, it’s an ideal place to nurture a range of produce, grass, and flowers.
We rotate crops since this time-honored practice strengthens and replenishes the soil for future crops without over-relying on fertilizers to prepare the soil.
Princeton Farms and Preserves proudly offers its own Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and greenhouse programs as part of our commitment to sustainable agriculture and community engagement.
CSAWe embrace sustainable and natural farming principles, avoiding synthetic chemicals and promoting biodiversity. Every crop is nurtured with precision, ensuring a natural, eco-conscious approach from seed to harvest.
Our farming practices go beyond natural standards, incorporating responsible irrigation, regenerative soil management, and eco-friendly techniques. By preserving soil health and water resources, we ensure long-term sustainability and environmental balance.
We follow optimal harvesting strategies, including seasonal planning and crop rotation, to enhance soil vitality and maximize flavor and nutrition. By harvesting at peak ripeness, we deliver fresh, nutrient-dense produce every season.
We cultivate a variety of herbs and spices that serve both culinary and medicinal purposes—ranging from basil, rosemary, and thyme for the kitchen, to chamomile, mint, and echinacea for natural remedies. These gardens are managed using chemical-free, sustainable methods, ensuring that every plant thrives in harmony with the local ecosystem.
Our vegetable garden features a diverse assortment of seasonal produce: tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, leafy greens, root vegetables, and more. By rotating these plantings across different plots, we maintain soil fertility naturally and minimize pest pressures without using synthetic pesticides.
Alongside our wildflowers (detailed below), we maintain dedicated flower gardens brimming with blooms such as marigolds, zinnias, sunflowers, and ornamental varieties. These vibrant flowers support pollinators and add beauty to our farm landscape. They are also popular among visitors for bouquets and special occasions.
We grow several high-value crops in rotation to enrich the land and minimize chemical inputs:
Our farm is home to various small animals, each contributing to the farm’s sustainability and visitor experience.
