Princeton Farms and Preserves has a long and prestigious history; this beautiful farmland was once owned by the Rockefeller family. The farm continues to thrive. It’s part of the New Jersey Farmland Preservation Program which preserves farmland and the local environment for future generations.
We cultivate high-value crops using environmentally friendly methods that enrich the soil and promote long-term farm health. Through crop rotation and natural practices, we ensure a productive and sustainable future while providing fresh, local produce to our community.
Preserving and protecting our natural surroundings is at the heart of our mission. By supporting pollinators, maintaining healthy ecosystems, and reducing our environmental footprint, we safeguard the land for future generations.
We believe in fostering strong connections through education, collaboration, and accessibility. From our CSA program to local partnerships, we provide opportunities for people to engage with sustainable farming and enjoy the benefits of fresh, locally grown food.
Our main barn is a piece of history offering whispers of the past. It dates back to the early 1800s and was used for wheat threshing. We meticulously rehabilitated it with Amish craftsmen, now visitors love taking photographs of this charming, rustic barn.
Nestled between Skillman Road and Route 601 lies Walnut Lodge, a gem passed down through the hands of time from the Van Hornes to Hendrick and Jacob Sortor. This farm found its way into the embrace of Nicholas Van Zandt in 1793, later passing through various hands until it found solace in the care of Ouke Voorhees in 1813.
